Vid: Family

This video sat on my hard drive for a long, long time in its various stages of development. I'm not exactly the swiftest of vidders - well, I'm not exactly a vidder to say the truth!  But I'm enjoying myself....

With this one I wanted to show how a bunch of strangers became a family. It's one of the Farscape themes that sit close to my heart.

I've been working on the same story for over a year, I don't know what you're talking about ;)

Writing inspiration/drive is (IMHO) another matter because it requires a different kind of energy: nothing I can put into words but that's how it looks.

Vidding seems to me more like completing a puzzle: you have all the pieces, they are there, scattered on your table and you need "only" to assemble them in the order required by your inspiration/mood/whatever.

For writing the pieces are not there, not physically: you have to root for them inside your brain and your soul, and sometimes the process is a difficult one, sometimes it's even painful. And even when you have finally found the perfect piece, you have to shape it.

And that takes more time...

At least IMVVVVHO...

As for the icon, I'm a cartoonish mood, yes! ;-)

I think that makes a lot of sense! It is a totally different kind of energy and focus; with vids you are matching material that is already there with other material that is already there.

With fic you are working (usually) with established characters and settings, but there is a lot more that you are creating yourself, and that can take time.

That's it. Creation, even in an established universe, takes time...
